ACCOUNTING MANAGER

The Comprehensive Learning Center, Inc. is dedicated to serving individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in order to maximize their potential to become independent, productive and meaningful contributors of society. This is a full-time position.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the organization’s accounting functions, cash management, financial reporting and fundraising software which are aimed at supporting the overall mission of the Comprehensive Learning Center and the AJ Foundation. In order to fulfill this position’s obligations, the accounting manager must apply knowledge of accounting principles and terminology, and be proficient in managing/maintaining automated accounting and payroll systems, fundraising software programs and comprehensive spreadsheets.

Supervised by: President and Business Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the maintenance and management of all accounting databases relating to A/P, A/R, P/R and G/L, using Excel and QuickBooks, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Check vendor invoices and staff reimbursement requisitions for accuracy; apply codes and classes for data entry
• Prepare accounts payable run and obtain approval; ensure all invoices are paid
• Prepare service billings (tuition, waiver and private pay), apply codes and classes for data entry
• Ensure receipt of service payments
• Apply codes and classes on all other receipts for data entry
• Prepare checks to be deposited into the bank/s
• Prepare payroll, apply codes and classes for data entry
• Process payroll on a bi-monthly basis through an outside payroll company
• Maintain asset inventory and post monthly depreciation entries
• Maintain, manage and balance the GL by making, correcting, and adjusting entries when necessary
• Responsible for cash management functions including maintaining FDIC-insured balances, investments, lines of credit, restricted accounts, etc.
• Responsible for petty cash replenishment, disbursements and recording
• Conduct reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Prepare all financial reports to include financial statements, cash flow statements, budgets, forecasts and projections (based on actuals to date). In addition, prepare budget vs projection reports and analyze material variances
• Serve as the primary liaison to the outside auditors regarding their conduct of annual financial audits; make year-end adjusting entries provided by accountants
• Make and check necessary calculations; double check all worksheets by using crosschecks
• Employ the double entry accounting system when coding and classing accounting documents
• In conjunction with the business manager, ensure compliance to all GAAP principles including the principles related to accounting processes
• Update and enforce accounting, investment and cost control policies, procedures and manuals
• Compile routine financial information for reporting purposes on internal computer systems
• Create complex excel reports for varying projects as needed
• Maintain and manage office files relating to accounting records
• Attends Board Meetings as required
• Other duties as assigned

Fundraising
• Maintain fundraising cash files, grant activity and gift matching databases
• Create fundraising event websites and manage all data using the Donor Perfect software program
• Research and implement any enhancement of the Donor Perfect software program that benefits the organization

Team Support
• Attend and participate in weekly office meetings as well as other meetings as directed
• Assist with the coordination of CLC’s monthly visitor days, meetings, and tours, etc.
• Create excel charts and compose emails and office letters, memos and postings, etc.
• Assist in scheduling appointments/meetings using online calendar
• Assist in reorganizing files/folders on company server
• Assist in maintaining and managing office files

Profile and Professional Skills Needed:
• Knowledge of the organization and maintenance of filing systems
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, financial reporting and principles
• Knowledge of basic business math
• Skill in maintaining accounting or bookkeeping records
• Skill in both verbal and written communication
• Ability to create presentations, charts, graphs, simple databases, and spreadsheets
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines on various projects
• Keep and maintain personnel and student records
• Skilled in navigating, understanding and creating products from varying specialized computer software programs (i.e. Donor Perfect, Scheduling/Billing Software, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP Excel, QuickBooks and Donor Perfect
• Ability to work effectively with the President, administration as well as with the External Auditors.
• Sensitivity to the needs of students with disabilities, promptness and ability to meet deadlines is required
• Ad-hoc duties as needed

Experience:
• A minimum of five to seven years of upper-level financial/accounting work
• Management of at least 1-2 accounting employees
• AP and AR functions
• Payroll processing systems/software
• Monthly financial management of journal entries and general ledger
• Monthly and yearly closes; external audit preparation
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Light Human Resources as it pertains to financials and employees
• Benefits & Insurance program administration
• Expense processing and reporting

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA desired, but not required
• Certification, training and experience in accounting procedures and reporting is necessary

Additional Requirements:
• Clean Criminal/Child Abuse/FBI Fingerprint clearances
• A vehicle and a valid driver license

 

LIFE SKILLS COACH

We are seeking passionate and energetic individuals to provide services to our adult clients.

This part-time position currently offers approximately 15 hours/week.

Compensation: up to $20.00/hour (depending on experience)

The Life Skills Coach (LSC) responsibilities include supporting adult clients using behavior analytic principles and strategies. The LSC assists the Director of Adult Services in identifying, planning and developing individualized programming for all adult clients, including motivational systems and behavior support procedures. The LSC participates in Individual Support Plan (ISP) and inter-agency meetings as appropriate. In addition, LSC responsibilities include daily data collection, data analysis, and daily progress note writing.

Supervised by: Director of Adult Program

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implements programming for adult clients based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
• Collects, graphs and analyzes program data on a daily basis
• Prepares necessary materials for programming
• Contributes to ISP process
• Writes daily progress notes
• Attends and participates in:
Monthly supervision
Regular staff meetings
Relevant training workshops

Education/Experience:
• Minimum of one-year experience providing services to adults with developmental delays
• Minimum of one-year experience utilizing applied behavior analysis preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requirements:
• Must have current automobile insurance
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Must have current state motor registration
• Must have PA State Police, FBI and Child Abuse clearances
• Must have CPR/First Aid/AED certifications

SPECIAL EDUCATION – INSTRUCTIONAL TRAINEE

We are seeking passionate and energetic individuals to provide instruction and behavior support services to our students.

This is a full-time position.

Compensation: $34,000

Trainee responsibilities include providing direct educational and behavioral services to students using behavior analytic principles and strategies, daily data collection on educational and behavior reduction programs, as well as educational material preparation.

Supervised by: Trainer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Implements educational and behavioral programming for learners based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Collects daily educational and behavioral data for one or more students
• Prepares necessary instructional materials for programming
• Contributes to the IEP process
• Attends and participates in:
• Module meetings
• Regular Staff Meetings
• Back to School Night
• All Relevant Training Workshops
• Pre-Service

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, special education, or related
• Minimum of one-year experience providing educational and behavioral services to individuals with autism utilizing applied behavioral analysis preferred.
